Flower Power

Don't you just love flowers?  I especially love daisies.  They are such a happy flower.

I was excited to see they kept the daisy stamp set and punch!  My favorite of the three images is the box.  I love how they blended the sky and the grass with the flowers on top.  It truely does look like a picture.

The middle card is made using the A Big Thank You stamp set.   To be honest, I never really looked at this set too much.  But, this card totally catches my eye.  It's bright and colorful.  The saying is so sweet.  Wouldn't you love giving this to someone as Thank You card?

The daisy stamp set and punch I have used multiple times.  Stamp and punch out two flowers, adhere them together and the above is what you get.  A nice full daisy flower.  Beautiful!

July Magnolia Event

Is anyone local to Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin?  I'm excited to be hosting an event in July!

I will be featuring the new stamp set, Good Morning Magnolia and it's coordinating products.  Have you seen it?  It's absolutely gorgeous!!  Look at those dies.  I can't wait to see what some of those flower dies put to use.  I'm hoping for some 3-d magnolia flowers.  Wouldn't that be awesome?

Finally, the other day I got time to actually stamp with these products.  LOVE THEM!  I can't wait to show them off in July.  So, what are we doing?  You will be making 4 different cards, 2 of each kind, walking out with a total of 8 cards.  Also included are the envelopes and any adhesives necessary.

Do you like sweet treats?  I'll be personally making some for the event.  Already my head is swimming with ideas.

Contact me if you are interested in attending this event.  I'm already waiting for my order to come so I can hopefully plan an event in August too!  I'll keep you posted on that.

Let's stamp together in July!

Until next time...Stampin' Always,

Simple Stamping Magnolia

Happy Fri-Yay!  Do you have any special plans for the weekend?  I work tomorrow, but we are taking Sunday off.  We all have been working hard, so Sunday is a fun day.  We'll see what we end up doing.  Hopefully the weather will be nice.

I've been busy getting ready for my demo meeting and club next week.  Here is a super simple card that literally took me 5 minutes to make.

I've been playing with the Magnolia Lane Suite today.  Wow!  This image is really fun to color with the Stampin' Blends.

Here is a perfect example of simple stamping in a few simple steps

  • Stamp the image in Memento Ink
  • Color lightly the middle of the flower
  • Color the entire flower with Wink of Stella
  • Add the sentiment

This card really only took me 5 minutes to design and actually make.  The Petal Pink in the center of the flower adds just a little bit of color.  The entire card is colored with the Wink of Stella.  Take a closer look at the center.

You can see where I colored the Petal Pink and also the shimmer of the Wink of Stella.  Who doesn't love a little bit of shimmer?

Magnolia Suite

So, did you make your wish list?  I placed my order yesterday!  Now the waiting begins.

The Magnolia Suite is calling my name.  Look at these samples!  They are gorgeous.  Love the subtle colors but yet they all manage to stand out together.  Interesting how that all works out.

I'm going to be using this next week for my club.  They are sure to love this Suite.

Are you ready for some awesomeness?  I'm so ready.  My wish list is way to long.  I'm going to have to pace myself.  One thing I'm anxious to get are the new In-Colors.  Have you seen them?   Just be aware...there have been a few quality issues with the Purple Posy Ink Pad and it is currently not available for ordering.  I know it's inconvenient, but Stampin' Up! is particular when it comes to quality.  They won't settle for anything less than perfect.   I'll keep you posted when it will be available to order.

21 Eclipse Card

We finally had great weather for a Sunday! Sunny and warm-ish.  It's not often when I say it could have been a little bit warmer, but who's complaining?  I was able to get outside and weed some of my flower beds that were long overdue.  Tomorrow should be a good day too because I don't work!!! And it's supposed to be a little bit warmer too.  That never happens to me, especially two days in a row.

This was the only card I was able to get in my stamp room to make.  It was for Megan's 21st Birthday.

It is called a Eclipse Card.    Notice how the 21 is cut right from the card front and then re-adhered in the same position using dimensionals.  You can see it, but it isn't the only thing you see on the card.

For the girl image, I wanted to make sure she came out perfect.  Get out the Stamparatus!  It took about three stamps to get her completely black.  The Stamparatus made it easy to stamp over because it stays positioned until I move the paper myself. Love it!

The two stamp sets I used are Enjoy Life and Amazing Life.  Ironic that both stamp sets have the word Life in each one.  Megan has lived up to both of these titles while she was in England these past 6 months.  She had an adventure that she will never forget.

Diagonal Card

Yesterday was a great day.  Megan came home from England!!  We were waiting for her in Chicago with balloons.  It's not everyday she comes home from Europe on her 21st birthday.  She walked in the door and immediately grabbed her cat.  I think she missed him more than me.  Oh well.  She's home and not going anywhere for a while.

Here's a new kind of card for you.  I usually don't make my own patterned paper, but let's step out of that box.  Everything is Rosy stamp set was perfect to make four different patterened paper.  And of course, I had to use 4 different In-Colors that will be retiring.

Stamp the images on Whisper White and then adhere those strips to a piece of neutral paper.  On the back, mark an inch on  the short ends,  on opposite sides.  Cut between the hash marks and you now have pieces for two cards!  I have a picture in the card recipe on how to cut the diagonal.

How awesome is it that you now have the main part done for two cards?!  Great way to multi task.

Don't forget these colors will be retiring June 3rd.  They will be replaced with 5 new In-Colors that we will soon fall in love with.  I'm so very confident of that.  I will miss Lemon Lime Twist the most.

Just the other day, I received my pre-order.  I ordered some of the Magnolia Suite.  With Megan coming home, I haven't had time to play yet, but I'm really anxious to get my hands this set.  The paper alone is enough to drool over.  Hopefully tomorrow night.

Fun Butterfly Card

How is everyone's Memorial Day Weekend? For me, it means less than two days for Megan's homecoming!!!!  I'm doing this post Sunday evening and she will be home Tuesday afternoon.  This momma can't wait!!  But you can't tell that.  We Skyped today.  She's packed and ready to leave campus.  To make it easier, Megan is going to London tomorrow and staying overnight by Heathrow Airport.  It's not always the easiest travelling by yourself with a backpack and two suitcases.  She's excited to have a real bed since she hates the one at school.  She won't miss the school and is anxious to get home to see family, friends, and even work.  What she will miss is the travelling.  I'm glad Megan was able to have this experience.  It is definately something she will never forget.

This card was made during our demonstrator meeting last week.  I was busy with another project so I'm not sure what stamp set was actually used.  (Someone else was so very kind to make it for me.)   I love the two different patterned paper.  Who says different patterns don't go together? Not me!

Now, for the surprise.  Look at the inside.

It's designed like an envelope and you pull out the Whisper White piece.  Isn't that so cute?  It would even work great as a gift card holder.  I have done these before, but not for a very, very long time.  Too long in fact.  I will have do to something about that.

Since I have to work tomorrow, that's it for now.  Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Until next time...Stampin' Always,
