Hi There!

Good-bye to the Hanging Garden Stamp Set.  It was a simple set, but I liked it.

It was a great set to use the Stampin' Blends on.  I didn't have to blend much on this card, but they make coloring so much easier.  No need to worry about those nasty lines.

The bottom piece of DSP is actually vellum.  The best way to adhere this is by using the Fine Tip Glue pen.  Other adhesive might be seen through the vellum.  That would ruin a perfectly good card.

I used the Layering Ovals framelits for all those ovals.  Only the top two are a full oval.  The remaining ovals are cut in half.  Definately do not want those showing through the vellum.  The ribbon hids the bottom of the ovals if they are not cut perfectly.  This gives a most polished look to the card.  If you don't have any ribbon, use a piece of cardstock.

Before you add the ovals, make sure you have enough room for the saying.  It fits perfectly, doesn't it?

Good-bye Flowering Cactus

Today was a long day at work, but a good one.  As of now...I'm on VACATION!  That's right.  Tomorrow is all about getting ready and we leave Wednesday evening for London!  Hard to believe that's it's actually here.  There's a lot to do yet, but it'll get done.

I went outside of my box with this stamp set.  Typically, I would pass on this, but I was glad to have this one.

Clean and simple was pretty much the theme of this card.  The four different inks made for easy visual interest.  I used 4 out of 5 of the In-Colors that will be retiring.  It's so sad to see them go.  The two I will miss the most are Lemon Lime Twist and Tranquil Tide.

This card would also be pretty if you would mat the Whisper White on any one color used in the card.  Food for thought on that one.

I've seen the new In-Colors online, but not in-person.  I'm excited to finally get my hands on some products.  The online thing is great to get a sneak peek, but doesn't take the place of in-person.  Being a demonstrator, I will get to pre-order some items before the catalog goes live, June 4.

The catalog looks pretty yummy too.  There is one stamp set that stood out to me.  It's with a windmill and tulips. Hmmm.  I will be seeing the tulips in Amsterdam, Holland next week.  I can't remember what the name of the stamp set, but it's calling my name.

Easter Treat

Happy Easter!

My coffee friend made Easter treats for us and I thought I would share them with you.

Are they just adorable?  Ignore the thumb print on the bottom candy. It was in my car for about 15 minutes, just long enough for it to melt without me realizing it.  Oops.

As you can see,  the candy was adhere to a piece of card stock and slid into a cello bag.

The topper is just too cute.  I love this bunny standing oh so perfect.  He's colored just a little bit, enought to make him come to life.  The flower as a hat is a nice touch.  That was the reason I chose this particular bunny.  I couldn't resist it.

That's all I have for tonight.  We are busy getting ready for our trip to London.  We leave Wednesday and will be seeing Megan Thursday morning.  I am so excited to see her in person again. Guilt it hitting pretty hard because Alyssa isn't able to come with us because of college.  A family vacation without one, just isn't the same.

Until next time...Stampin' Always,

Lasting Moments

Have you checked out the retirement list?  Wow, it's long.  But, don't forget, some stamps that are retiring will be brought back as the new Cling Version.  There will be no more wood-mount stamp sets at all.  End of an era.

Grab some of the In-Colors that are retiring.  Have the ink pads, but not the refills?  Better grab them while you can.  Usually those items do sell out.  Don't forget the card stock.  If you have the ink pads, might has well have the card stock too.

I was so sad that Lasting Lily is no longer available.  I love SAB, but don't like the fact those stamp sets are no longer available to purchase.  There are sometimes I can't resist using them yet.

This card does have several layers of paper, but overall, it's a super easy card to make.  Layer the paper. Stamp the sentiment. And you are pretty much done.

I love the patterned paper of leaves and flowers.  It's actually the vellum from Floral Romance DSP.  It was so creative to include patterned paper along with vellum in a DSP pack.  I hope this is offered more often.  It gives us so much more variety with the vellum.

Along with the vellum, you do have to be careful with the adhesive.  I have found that using the Fine Tip Glue Pen works the best.  I used it mostly along the dark leaves or where there is a pattern and you really couldn't see the glue at all.  I also used very minimal so that helped also.

All of these products will be retiring so keep that in mind.

It's Finally Here....the New Retirement List!

It's that time of year.  Retirement time!  The new list is finally out!!

The list is unusually long this year.  Partly, because the Big Shot is retiring, all the products by Sixxix is also retiring.  But, some products might be returning in the next Annual Catalog with a slight change or produced by a new vendor.  So, don't panic quite yet.  Let's see what Stampin' Up! has up their sleeve.

Also, you will notice quite a few stamps are also retiring.  Again, don't panic.  Stamp sets in the Clear and Wood style are retiring, not necessarily the stamps are.  Some stamps will be returning in the new CLING format!  Whew!

Here is an edited version of the Retirement List from the Annual Catalog:

Retirement List for Annual Catalog 2019

Because we manufacture all our own stamp sets, we are guaranteeing availability through May 24.  That is so awesome!  All other products on the Retirement List will be available until June 3, or while quantities are available.  Stampin' Rewards are eligible upon all qualifying orders that include retirement products.

Check out the lists and see what you think.  I'm going to mark up my catalog and put together a shopping list.

Until next time...Stampin' always,

Coming Tomorrow...

Tomorrow is the day.  The Retirement list comes out!  It's an exciting day, as well as a day for mourning.

It's exciting because we are getting closer to the new Annual 2019-2020 Annual Catalog.  It goes live for everyone June 3.  The catalog will go out in May.  I haven't seen it yet, like other demos, but I'm sooo excited to see all the new stamps, colors, papers, oh, just the whole catalog!

It's also a day for mourning.  We have to say good-bye to some products and colors we love.  The 2018-2019 In-Colors for sure are retiring.  It's not just the In-Colors inks, but embellishments and paper as well.  Should I mention that stamp sets are also retiring?  For me, it creates anxiety because I'm always afraid that a favorite stamp set might be on that list. But then I remember, for ever retired set, another new one appears and then I create new favorites all over.

Which In-Color are you going to miss the most?  For me, it's pretty much a tie between Tranquil Tide and Lemon Lime Twist.  Oh, hurry up new In-Colors.  I need to move on.

No photo description available.

This year might be especially hard.  The Big Shot and Stampin' Trimmer are retiring.  The Big Shot is hitting close to the heart. With the dies and embossing folders, I can't imagine not having it to use.   Stampin' Up! is coming out with a new die cutting machine.  They hasn't released the new name or even the look, so all eyes are keeping watch.  Expectations are very high.

I, personally, do not have the trimmer, but I also haven't heard anything bad about it.  Everyone loves it. The reason it is retiring is more because of the quality of the replacements blades and also the reliability of getting the product in the warehouse. Again, I'm excited to see what is coming to replace it.  The new trimmer won't be in the new catalog, but it will be available to purchase.  The catalog deadline came before the trimmer product had been finalized.  We are in the paper crafting business.  You know Stampin' Up! won't let us down.

Stay tuned for the retirement list tomorrow!  But more importantly, this means we are closer to the new Annual Catalog!

Until next time...Stampin' Always,
