Christmas Reindeer

Did everyone have a good weekend?  Chris worked on the deck pretty much all weekend so I stay around and helped whenever I could.  It's slowly coming around.  Both sets of stairs are finally done!  Mia, our dog, is loving that.

When we use the Big Shot, typically we use what is cut out and forget the negative piece.  Here's a perfect example of using that negative piece that we typically throw out.

My piece of Very Vanilla is 3 1/2 x 4.  Center the die towards the upper end and that leaves plenty of room for the sentiment towards the bottom.

Notice the piece of Wrapped in Plaid DSP?  The pattern has the same deer image, but going the opposite way.  Perfect planning on my part! I added a whole lot of dimensionals to the back of the Very Vanilla.  Then I added that to the DSP.  Take a closer look of the actual deer and where the dimensionals were used.

The only thing that would make this more perfect is that if the deer on the DSP were going the other way.  I know, it is only a little detail, and most people probably wouldn't even notice it.  But I did.

Who's getting this card?

I needed a simple card, and this is what I came up  with.

I know, I went outside of my box and used Highland Heather.  Purple is not my normal go-to color, but I do like it.  So, I tried something new.

Here I did use both Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape.  Not one, but two purples!  I used my aqua painter and colored both purples in the middle of the Whisper White.  The outcome was super pretty.   It actually looks like three colors, but no.  Only two.

The sillhoute of the flowers and butterfly are stamped using Memento Black.  They are from the Enjoy Life stamp set.

Now, the question...Who is going to receive this card?  Hmmm.  I'll get back to you on that.

Tasty Thursday - Homemade Marshmallow Coffee Creamer

I do like coffee.  But it cannot be black.   Skim milk makes it turn gray.

There hasn't been any new kinds of creamer that even sound remotely interesting to try.  And there even less sugar free ones too.

Thank goodness for Pinterest.

I found this recipe and thought to give it a try.  I don't have much to lose.  Only a few bucks and my time.  Marshmallow is not usually a go to flavor for me, but I'm getting almost desperate right now.

Homemade Marshmallow Coffee Creamer

  • 1 1/2 cups half-and-half or heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 7.5 ounce container marshmallow creme
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, heat your cream and milk over medium-high heat.

  • When the milk mixture is hot, but not boiling, add your sugar and stir to combine.

  • Add the marshmallow creme, a little at a time, whisking to combine until smooth and creamy.

  • Remove mixture from heat and add in the vanilla extract. Stir to combine.

  • Pour into a container, and refrigerate until you are ready to use it. This can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 weeks.

I had to add a little more than usual, but I did get the marshamllow flavor.  The recipe was super easy to make and didn't take long for it to cool down so I could have my coffee.  I'm a fan of vanilla, so I would add more next time.  Yes, I'll try this again.

Here is where I found the recipe:  thegraciouswife.com

I found some other creamers that I will be trying in the near future.  If they are good, I'll share them too.

New Christmas Ornament Punches

The new Holiday Catalog is LIVE!  It's always exciting to have new, fun product to play with.  And I think this catalog is REALLY good.  It was hard not purchasing all the catalog.

Yesterday, I showed you, I purchased this stamp set.  I love Christmas ornaments and they are hard for me to resist.  There is something about them that pulls at my heart strings.

With this said, it had to be the first stamp set I had to play with.  The two smaller ornaments are stamped in Pretty Peacock and Night of Navy.  The larger ornament is on Pretty Peacock and embossed with Copper embossing powder.

Take a look at this DSP.  Isn't is absolutely gorgeous???  Love how these color go together.  The the pop of Copper... WOW.   That's all I have to say about that.  This could also make for some great masculine cards.

I have a feeling there will be plenty of cards made with this stamp set and DSP.  Is this on your Wish List?

Are you excited for tomorrow?

Are we all excited for tomorrow?

Do you even know what happens tomorrow?

Well, let me tell you...

The New Holiday goes live!!!

I'm so excited for this to start!  There are some awesome things just waiting to be shared.

Take a peek at two of the stamp sets I already have in my hands.  The plaid paper that goes with the Perfectly Plaid stamp set is absolutely gorgeous.  It's a 6x6 pack and sometimes I like those more than the 12 x 12.  Hint:  I try not to use more than a piece smaller than 3 x 6. This way I can easily get two cards from one piece of paper.

I already have some ideas that I want to explore with the Beauty & Joy stamp set.  It's not just for one season either.  Yay!  It would even look great with the plaid DSP.

Here's another promotion starting tomorrow...

Here is the list of DSP packs that are included in this sale.

Celebrating You

I haven't been in my stamp room to much this last month, but I'm back now.  The girls both left for college yesterday. I'm soooo upset that this is the first time since they were 3 years old, I didn't get a "1st" day of school picture!  While they have been in college, that picture was them standing by their loaded car.  Things have been so crazy around here that I completely forgot. If the girls realized I didn't get the picture, they kept quiet about it!  But I didn't expect them to say anything either.

I still can't believe that it's September.  Where did the summer go?

I haven't used this stamp set in a very long time, so it was time to dig it out.  Milk cans are a favorite of mine, so I had to purchase this stamp set right away.

The strip on the left is Smoky Slate embossed with the Tin Tile Embossing Folder.  I bought it last year, but I think this is one of the first times using it!  I hate when that happens!

The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Birthday Stamp Set.  The Whisper White piece is 3 x 1/2.  The ends were put in the Everyday Label punch.  In the center of the side, is a rounded area.  I slipped the paper in the side and punched.  Repeat the same procedure for the other side.  It's a nice change from the banner ends that are so popular right now.

Clean & Simple Swaps

Today I want to show some more of the Clean & Simple Swap cards I received.

No photo description available.

Normally, I am not a fan of this paper, but does it work!  The colors are perfect for this particular stamp.

No photo description available.

I think that I am the only demonstrator who doesn't own this stamp set and cordinating DSP.    Maybe I should put it on my wish list.

No photo description available.

How can you not like daisies?  They are just such a happy flower.  The three rhinestones add just the perfect amount of bling.

No photo description available.

I much as I hate dandelions in real life, I love this dandelion stamp set.  By putting some of the dandelion in the bottom right corner makes you feel the dandelion is blowing away.

I haven't been in my stamp room in quite a while.  Things have been super crazy around here.  The girls both leave for school on Sunday so once they are gone, I'll be stamping again!

Until next time...Stampin' Always,

Cheryl, HomeStyle Stamper

Today's Updates

Are you ready for some updates?  Here they are!

Stamping Trimmer

The new Stampin' Trimmer will be available for demonstrators to order by the end of the year!  It will be available shortly after that for all customers.  Yay!  This is great news.  The cost should be around $25.  Demonstrators who were on the Incentrive Trip got a sneak peek and the reviews have been awesome!

Unfortunately, the blades for the current trimmer are now sold out.  They went on sale today and within minutes, they were gone.  There will be no more shipments on these.

Holiday Catalog

It starts September 4th!  Have you looked through the catalog?  It's is pretty good!  If you need a copy, let me know and I can get one to you.  I'm excited to start making Christmas cards.
