A Birthday card is made with Dragonfly Dreams stamp set and Work of Art. The colors used are Mint Macaron, Soft Sea Foam and Tranquil Tide.

This card I received n a swap last week. Kathy V. is the one who made this. 

The brick look is from the embossing paste.  Doesn't it look great?  It adds such a nice dimension to the card.  You can add ink to the paste which is how this got its color.  I have this paste, but haven't gotten around to trying it yet.  This card really makes me want to learn how it works.

The stamp is from the You're Inspiring stamp set.  The set also has some nice sentiments to use like Happy Birthday, and You're Inspiring.   I love daffodils.  When we see them we know spring is here!

The colors are Mint Macaron and Calypso Coral.  Iwouldn't have necessarily thought to put these two colors together, but I like them.  This is what I like about swaps.  You get ideas from others that you wouldn't ever think of.

Another weekend has come and gone.  Definately didn't spend too much time outside.  Way too hot for this girl.  The longest I spent outside was in the Frostie Freeze line, waiting for ice cream tonight.  And boy, it was good.

Don't you just love these two colors together? I'm in love with them!   Super Summery.  They are Coastal Cabana (returning color) and Soft Sea Foam (brand new color).  I was really excited about both of these colors and they are stunning together. 

The Silver Metallic Thread really pops against the colors and gives the card some texture.  I tried the gold thread, but didn't like them together.  What I did was wrap the thread around the short end of an ink pad 4-5 times.  Wrap it loosely so you can slide it off and adhere it to the back of the circles.  Washi tape to the rescue.  My club people laugh everytime I use the tape for these purposes!

Dont' forget about the inside of the card.  Look at what I did.  Simple but fun.  There's plenty of room for a sentiment.

So far, since the new catalog came out with the Color Revamp, this is my favorite card.  The colors together are stunning.

Happy Weekend! 

 It's going to be a hot one in Wisconsin.  It's supposed to be in the 90s.  I hate the hot and humid weather.  Guess I'll be staying inside as much as I can.  

A forest of evergreens.  Isn't this typical of Northern Wisconsin?  This would make a great masculine card.  Birthday?  Father's Day?

I used three different shades of green for the evergreens. Pear Pizzazz, Shade Spruce and Garden Green.  The top layer of trees, I used the Pear Pizzazz because it's the lightest color and in real life, the sun would shine on those more.  Then for the others, I mixed the remaining two colors together.  I added only a few more Pear Pizzazz for depth.

The mountains and water are just one color each.  Pool Party and Crumb Cake.  I just stamped off several time to get the color dimension.  This kept the eye more on the trees which was my card focus.  

The Wood Textures dsp pack was the perfect paper for this card.  I was go glad to see the pack was carried over to the new Occassions Catalog!  Paper doesn't get carried over too much.

The trees was a perfect touch to add to the card inside.  The Happy Birthday is from Sunshine Sayings stamp set.  I wanted to keep it simple with the evergreens.

This is one of the easiest recipes ever.  Seriously, it's only three ingredients.  Yes...THREE ingredients.  I didn't type that incorrectly. 

My neighbor gave me this recipe years ago. At the time, a lot of people were spending $6-7 dollars on a box mix that didn't even include the beer.  This recipe is so much cheaper, even with the beer included.  And tastes just as good.

The secret is to use a beer you like.  It's not the recipe to use if you want to get rid of that awful bottle of beer.  The bread will end up tasting like that awful bottle of beer.  

Beer Bread

3 cups self-rising flour

2 tablespoon sugar

12 oz beer

Mix all the ingredients together.  Put in greased pan.  Bake 50 minutes at 350.  Take out and brush with butter.  Bake another 10 minutes.

Cool in Pan.

That's it.  Didn't I say it was really easy?  It's really good when served slightly warm and with butter.

Happy Evening!

It's been a long week, but now I have 2 days off!  Unfortunately, tomorrow I have a dentist appointment to get a cavity filled.  Not how I want to spend a day off.  I HATE the dentist.  But, I've been putting this off for quite a while, so I better to before it gets too bad.  

I actually came up with this card last month.  Can you name the four new In-Colors I used?

Lovely Lipstick --- Grapefruit Grove --- Pineapple Punch --- Blueberry Bushel

The only reason I didn't use the Call Me Clover was because of the ribbon.  I didn't have any ribbon in the new In-Colors so I had to go with what I had and that was the Lemon Lime Twist.  Looks good!

Putting the wavy lines vertical gives it a trellis look.  Love how the flowers go up it.  My favorite part of the card is the Blueberry Bushel bird.  It really stands out against the other colors.  Unfortunately, the bird does have to be cut out by hand.  The thinlits don't have a die for him.  I was disappointed too.  Fussy cutting is one thing I try to avoid.  But on the bright side, there's only one to cut out.

Look at the color combo for this card.  I don't think I miss Call Me Clover.  The Lemon Lime Twist really looks great with these colors.

I participated in a card swap with my fellow demonstrators. This card was made by Gail V. 

 

The Accented Blooms stamp set is on my Wish List that is waaay too long. I love the colors Gail used. Perfect for summer flowers. Can you imagine this stamp set being colored with the Stampin’ Blends?  Oh what fun!  

Gail also used new colors!  The first thing I noticed was the Blackberry Bliss card base. The other color that jumped out at me was the Grapefruit Grove “Thank You”. It really stands out and makes a statement.

I know, I should have posted this card last month.  It just seemed like another card came up that I wanted to post and this one got left by the wayside.  

Sorry to say that Peekaboo Peach and A Mother's Flair stamp set have both retired. 

But...look at the layout I used.  In this card it has dimension, texture and layers.  I didn't have any patterned paper that I liked, so I used the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder instead.  This really dressed up the plain cardstock. You can see a touch of ribbon under the embossed cardstock and on top is the layer of Very Vanilla.  The hat oval is adhered with dimensionals so it stands apart from the card base.

Unfortunately, I didn't have the Peekaboo Peach marker to color the flower.  Time to improvise.  I used the Peekaboo Peach Inkpad and Blender pens. It actually gave it a lighter look than the marker would have do I like the way it turned out.  It's hard to see, but in the middle of the flower is a Rhinestone gem.  The card needed a touch of bling.

Life has been a little crazy around here.  Too much work, not enough play.  After Wednesday, I'll be able to breathe again. Don't we al get those weeks?
