You are Wonderful

Back to work Monday. I'm sure I wasn't the only one not wanting the weekend to end.

Do you recognize two returning colors?  Yes they are Blackberry Bliss and Mint Macaron.  Two colors I didn't think would look good together, but they do.  I stamped three leaves, but one was stamped off.  I wanted one looking just a little bit lighter than the others.

The leaves are also adhere just at the top, leaving the bottom free.  I carefully rolled them so they would stick out just a little bit for some dimension.  They are tucked under the Mint Macaron card stock. If you can't tuck them under, just cut them off a little so they don't go off the bottom of the card and adhere just at the top.

Here is the color combo for the card.

Two more days of work, then I'm off for the rest of the week!  We have plenty to do around here to keep me busy!

Varied Vases Birthday Wishes

6 29 18

Birthday card using the Varied Vases stamp set. Really liking the Lovely Lipstick and Blueberry Bushel card stock.

Kangaroo Card

We made this card at one of my demonstrator meetings.  I'm sorry, but I can't remember who designed this sweet card. The kangaroo is from the Animal Outing stamp set.   Isn't the he adorable?  Love the baby in its pouch.

The kangaroo is color with the Stampin' Blends.  Hopefully they will be back in stock soon.

What's great about this stamp set is that it comes with thinlits!  No fussy cutting those kangaroos and rhinoceros' for us!  Life just got easier for us.

The other stamp set used is Around the Corner.  Fits the corner of the paper perfectly.  Well planned.  So many times we need just a little bit in the corner and this is the perfect solution.  Some stamps have words and others are just doodling.   It's a nice variety between the two.

I don't recall all the products we used, but here you can see the stamp sets.  We didn't use the framelits on this particular card but I just wanted you to see them.

Lipstick Vases

This was my Thank You card this month.  Here's proof that simple can be good. Varied Vases stamp set and punch is what I used here.  It's great the you can mix and match the vases and flowers.

I wanted to showcase a new In-Color of Lovely Lipstick.  The color is bold, but not overpowering since I kept the card design very simple.  With the vase in the bottom right corner, I balanced it out with the Rhinestones in the upper left corner.  Plus a touch of bling is ok.

Another version I did was with the Pineapple Punch.  Same exact card, just a different color.  Which is your favorite?

Post It Holder

I haven't done a 3-D project in club for a while so I figured it was about time.  These frames have been sitting in my stamp room for several years so I was glad to use them finally.

Who doesn't have these Post It notes in their house?  We all recognize this color.  I can't change the color of the Post It, so let's work with it.  Instead of it standing out, I chose to design around the color and have it blend in.  Delightful Daisy DSP was the perfect choice.  It has enough yellow in it so the Post It notes don't stand out too much.

The base is Whisper White.  I layered the other colors on top, with the top layer being the same size of the Post It.

We did something different with the flower.  No stamping, just coloring.  We used the Aqua Painters and Night of Navy Ink Pad. It was great seeing how everyone's daisy was a bit different.

I did suggest when they stamp the sentiment, stamp closer to the paper.  Mine was a little too high but still works.  I always like to pass tidbits of information on to  my people.

I added the Organza Ribbon on the top, more for function than show.  The Whisper White paper was bending over slightly and over time it would be worse.  The ribbon holds the paper tight against the frame.  And also looks good.

Dragonfly Birthday Card

This is well travelled birthday card.  I made this card for Megan's birthday.  I brought it with us to Germany and then onto Prague.  It was her birthday when we were there.  I kept this card with me so I wouldn't forget it.  We were on vacation, but it was still my baby's birthday.

I absolutely am in LOVE with color pallete.  Tranquil Tide, Mint Macaron and Soft Sea Foam.  The darker Tranquil Tide really grounds the other two colors and gives dimension.

The background stamps are from Work of Art.  Unfortunately, it did retire.  But another alternate would be to use the stamp pads and aqua painters.  Just ink the aqua painters and spread some around the Whisper White.  By doing that technique, you could make you color swatches longer which would looks great too.

Break out the Rocking Technique. Ink the dragonfly stamp in the lighter color, Soft Sea Foam.   Roll the stamp in the Mint Macaron ink pad just inking the edges.  Stamp the image on the Whisper White.  Love the effect you get, two colors, one image.  And done with an imperfect look.

Share What You Love Artisan Pearls are a great touch.  I just sprinkled some around the card for a touch of flair.  Speaking of flair, color the dragonfly with the Wink of Stella.  It helps make the dragonfly come to life.

Here is the color pallet.  Don't you love it?
