Three Christmas Gleaming Ornaments

What a mess do we have downstairs!  We had an electrician come and install more and better lights downstairs.  In order for him to do his work, we had to completely move everything around in the basement.  It was a mess before, but now, we are closer to a disaster.  The lighting is fabulous.  I even got more lighting in my stamp room.  Now we have to put everything back.  And may re-organize a bit.  Guess that's what I'll be doing on Friday.

I can't believe that it's taken me this long to get out this stamp set again!  The stamp set and the DSP are truely one of my all time favorites!  When they retire, I will have to have a good cry.

There are a lot of layers in this one.  And they all started with scraps.  It was fun configuring all the layers and putting it together.

I almost embossed the ornaments with Brass embossing powder, but I thought it would be too much shine with the DSP.  Instead, I opted for the regular ink of Pretty Peacock and Night of Navy.

Want to jazz it up?  Trying adding some ribbon.  or a mat over the card base, maybe with a soft embossing on it.  Or adding some Wink of Stella on an ornament or three.

Embossing Reindeer Christmas Card

How was your Thanksgiving?  Sorry, I haven't been around lately. Work was super busy. With the Covid cases going up, the online orders have increased and having a holiday in there definately didn't help.

For Thanksgiving, it was just the 4 of us.  Since two don't care for turkey, we tried something different.  We made Beef Wellingtons.  It was a lot of work, and I mean a lot, but the results were pretty amazing.  They turned out and we all enjoyed them.  It would have to be a very special occasion for me to make them again.

Friday, we made 4 kinds of cookies.  That was an awesome start.  It was fun having the girls help again.  Saturday was work and getting the Christmas tree up.

Today, it was cleaning, finish getting the house Christmas ready.  Megan left to go back to school.  She won't be done with exams until Dec. 19.  I also made some time to get in my stamp room.  It's been a while and since I work all week, I took advantage of a few hours in there.

I made this card early last week for my club Thank you cards.  It's a mix of Wishes & Wonder stamp set and Poinsettia Place DSP.  Would you have thought to merge those two together?

At first, I was afraid to use embossing powder on the reindeer.  I didn't think the details would come through.  Boy, was I wrong!  You can totally see all the details, especially when it's white embossing powder on Early Espresso.

Something else is new.  Never have I tried a color on the sleigh, other than a neutral.  Here it is Mint Macaron, both card stock and ink.  I tried it in Garden Green, the card base, but it just wasn't working for me.  The two different greens really looked good.

Take a peek on the inside.  The sentiment is stamped in Garden Green.  But the mistletoe is stamped in Mint Macaron, but stamped off TWO times.  I wanted it barely seen.   The mistletoe should have been centered more on the sentiment, but that's what makes it unique and homemade.

One Day Sale Coming Nov. 24

Image may contain: text that says 'MERRY & BRIGHT ONLINE EXTRAVAGANZA 24-HOUR SALE! November 24th STAUP! UP.'

Merry Christmas to us!

Get ready for this Sale!  It's for November 24 ONLY.

Now, here's what's on sale.  NEARLY EVERYTHING in the Annual Catalog is on sale!  Woot!  Woot!  That's a lot of catalog that is on sale.   Since it's the Annual Catalog, the sale doesn't include the Occasions Catalog.

The last time to place an order online will be 11:50 pm MT, so for us in Central Time, that is 12:50 am on the 25th.  But, I wouldn't recommend waiting that long to place an order.  I'm planning on having my shopping card already loaded the night before so the morning of  Nov. 24, all I have to hit is "Place order".

It's a great time to look at those bundles.  They are already bundled at 10% off, now you can receive an additional 10% off!  That's a great deal.

I said "Nearly Everything" is on sale.  Below is the Excluded List.

For me, I'm thinking about stocking up on some basic cardstock.  The Very Vanilla and Whisper White are excluded, but the rest of the colors should be on sale.   I also might finish phasing out the old style ink pads and finally have all the same new style.  I'll be looking at the checking account to see what I can afford.

Have fun shopping!

Tasty Thursday - Healthy No Bake Peanut Butter Granola Cups

I finally tried my air fryer tonight.  For some time, I've been debating on getting one.  Then, I found a great deal from Best Buy, it was $90 off!  Definately was larger than I anticipated on getting, but the price was right.  So, for dinner tonight I just made my own chicken tenders.  No real recipe.  I looked on Pinterest to see how long to cook the chicken since there was no book included for directions at all.  Very disappointed in that.  We all liked the crispiness the chicken had.  I can't wait to try other things now.

A while ago, I made these breakfast cups.  They didn't last long because everyone liked them.  It was a good breakfast alternative, or would be a fabulous snack.

One recipe makes only 12 cups. I would recommend skipping the single recipe and just make a double batch right away.

One bitten Healthy No Bake Peanut Butter Granola Cup.

Healthy No Bake Peanut Butter Granola Cups

  • 2 ½ cups granola
  • 1 cup peanuts-chopped
  • 3 Tablespoons peanut butter
  • 3 Tablespoons honey (or more if needed)

Filling:

  • 1 cup peanut butter-melted
  • Topping:
  • 12 oz. dark chocolate-finally chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon coconut oil
  1. To make Peanut Butter Granola Cups, in a bowl combine granola, chopped peanuts, peanut butter and honey. If the mixture is too dry add more honey to get sticky consistency of the mixture.
  2. Grease cupcake pan and divide the mixture in 12 cups. Press the mixture well to hold together and make a dent in the center of each cup. Freeze for 5-10 minutes, until the cups are firm.
  3. Then, melt peanut butter and pour int the center of each granola cup. Now, freeze for another 5-10 minutes, until firm.
  4. Finally, melt dark chocolate and coconut oil and spoon melted chocolate on top of peanut butter. Chill until chocolate has set.
  5. Store in the fridge in air-tight container., or freeze for longer storage.

They are definately not hard to make.  I love that these are a no bake recipe.  Just plain old simple.

Here is where the original recipe came  from:  https://omgchocolatedesserts.com/no-bake-peanut-butter-granola-cups/

Let me know if you try these.  I've actually have forgotten about these.   Now, I'm thinking I may have to make them again.  Breakfast has been boring me lately so these are sounding very appealing.

Happy Day!

Was you day a Happy Day?  My day was just meh, especially since I had to work.  And it was busy.  The number of online order are increasing so we are definately working harder.  The store was busy also busy today.  The customers kept getting in the way of us getting our work done.  You think maybe a holiday or something was coming up.

I normally don't case much from Pinterest, but I did this card, but always with my own twist.

Each kind of fern is stamped in it's own color.  I stamped off on some of the colors, especially Pretty Peacock so it wouldn't get too dark and take over the card.

Usually, I don't use those little filler stamps, like the dots.   I don't know why really.  This time, I was determined to use the dots, and I liked what I say.  Really did fill in some blank areas in the card.  Of course, they were stamped in Soft Sea Foam, the lightest color.

The banner with Happy Day was a bit too small and would get lost on this card.  The mat of a different color and shape really makes the sentiment stand out, and in a good way.

Add a bow and this card is done.

You Are My Sunshine!

It was an icky weather Sunday.  Windy, cloudy, rainy and all together miserable.  Glad I went to get my coffee and then stayed home the rest of the day.  Chris made an Irish Stew for dinner tonight.  It was pretty good.  We served it with mashed potatoes instead of diced potatoes in the actual stew.  He could make it again.

This was my club's Thank You cards.  They weren't done when their orders came in, so, instead the cards were waiting by their places.  The card is cased from Pinterest, but of course, with my twist.

I cut two circles from retired paper and adhered them together.  Not positive what mine measured, but it was between 2 t0 2 1/2 inches.  The double circles make it a little bit easier to sponge the color.

The base color is So Saffron.  I started sponging this color all over.  When there was a good base coverage, I sponged Mango Melody over, but just in smaller areas.  This gave the sun more dimension.  I loved how it turned out.  Because sponging is unique, no two cards are ever alike.  Look at the subtle differences between each sun.

The bottom right is my favorite.

It's best to use the Stamparatus when stamping the sentiment.  You definately want to get a good black image.  At least with the Stamparatus, you can stamp again.

Can you see that each one of mine is slightly different?  It was hard to see where the sun was being sponged.  The sentiment is slightly altered too, depending upon where the sun was.  But, they all turned out and my club people loved them.

Stamping Off Leaves

Are we ready for the weekend?  I would be if I didn't have to work tomorrow.  Today was spent doing a week's worth of laundry.  Oh what fun.  I did make a coffee run this morning.  It was necessary.  Plus, I had to go to the bank, so I was out anyway.  What an excuse right?  It was also Friday the 13th, in 2020.  I wasn't about to jynx my luck and d something stupid.

We made this card in Club this week.  I saw one similar to thsi during OnStage and wanted to CASE it.  What I like is that's it pretty straight forward card.  Easy to replicate.

The leaves are actually stamped off.  Ink the stamp and stamp the leaf three times, moving slightly inbetween and do not reink the stamp.  You can see the difference in the Crushed Curry leaf, more so than the Blackberry Bliss.  The leaves under the sentiment are also stamped off.  They are in Mint Macaron and I wanted just a little color underneath, but not much.

The sentiment is glued directly onto the Crushed Curry that was from the Everyday punch. Then, those two together were adhere with mini dimensionals.

The ribbon was actually super easy to work with.  It's part of the Forever Greenery ribbon pack.  I gave pity on my club and tied it in a knot.  I avoided the dreaded bow.

Product Preview!

We are almost done with our run of new perfect weather.  Tomorow is supposed to rain, then  starts the cool weather.  We can't complain since we have broken the temperature records for several days.  It's never been this in November before.  It just makes it hard to accept the normal weather for Wisconsin.

Onto the Product Preview!

Like I said yesterday, I was able to purchase some products that we used on OnStage over the weekend and are in the upcoming January Mini Catalog.

Meet the Dragonfly Garden Bundle.

Doesn't this just look fabulous?  And there is a punch!

I love the flowers in this stamp set.  In my garden, I even have some!  Aren't they called Cone Flowers?    Anyway, mine have pink petals so that's going to be the first color I use.

The shadow of the wings kind of threw me off.  I thought why only the right side the wings, not the left?  Well, I should have known SU! throught it through.  Turn it upside down and you have the left side.  It's kind of an abstract shadow so it's not perfect match.  It will be fun to experiment with.

We all received an email with the make & takes we could participate in for OnStage.  They gave us measurements of DSP and cardstock ahead of time and that was all.  It was kind of a Mystery Stamping event.  They walked us through each card and what to stamp.

Look at all those dragonflies just flying across the card!  Do you see the new ladybug embellishments?  ADORABLE!

More dragonflies!  Look under the main dragonfly.  You can see the stamped wing image.  I like how they designed this card to look like it was really flying.

Three squares of the new DSP pack.  Just randomly picked.  Those little dragonflies are super cute.  Notice the ribbon?  It's new braided ribbon in Mossy Meadow.

Will this set be on your Wish List?
