Good-bye Tempting Turquoise

Spring has finally come to Wisconsin.  Today has been the nicest day so far.  A bonus was that I only had to work until 12:00.  Okay, it was actually almost 1:00 by the time I finished my project with the help of my co-worker.  I spent part of the afternoon in my stamp room playing with a new stamp set and punch.  I'll show it when I can.  Promise.

I designed this card for my stamp club.  They wanted to use the Stamparatus, and I wasn't about to say no to a great tool!  Since we were now doing 4 projects, I decided to keep this one easy.  I chose the Ombre Effect.  Place the Whisper White on the Stamparatus and use the magnets to hold it down.  Position the stamp image on the Stamparatus plate so it's towards the top of the Whisper White.  Ink the flower and close the plate to stamp  the image.  DO NOT REINK! Move the plate down to the next image and stamp again.  Repeat this until you get four flowers, one lighter than the other.

Notice they are perfectly aligned.  You couldn't do that if you tried on your own.  And it was super easy.  Great if you need to make multiple cards.

Note:  if you are doing the Ombre Effect the key is have a really juicy ink pad.  You need to have a good inked image to start off with and that won't happen with a dry ink pad.

One funny thing is that I designed this card before the retirement list came out!  I just haven't used Tempting Turquoise lately, so I dusted it off and used it.  It's not normally a go-to color for me, but I do like it and will miss it.  It's paired with Melon Mambo.  Talk about a pop of color!  Love these two colors together.  We were in need of a spring-like card.

The bad thing is...I used a retired embossing folder.  I couldn't believe that!  Especially since I had marked the folder with an "R" for retired and totally missed that.  So, for club I had them use the Simple Stripe Embossing Folder.  It looked just as good as this one.

Stampin' Up! has done a YouTube video about the Stamparatus. It's just over 11 minutes long but gives a tons of information. You can find the video here.

I'm done for the night.  Everyone, have a good Tuesday!
