Dahlias Inspire Me Card

Have you watched The Crown on Netflix?  Megan and I have been for several weeks.  She's seen it already, at least once, maybe more. But it's my first time. It's been very interesting.  Definitely a hard show to multitask while watching it.  You need to pay attention.  We are only on Season 2, which is the 1950's, I believe.   I sometimes wonder how much is fact versus fiction.  We will never know.

This was my Club Thank You cards this month.  The Delicate Dahlias stamp set was the one I used.  You can get it FREE with any $50 purchase from the SAB catalog.  It's only available until the end of September!

I purposely chose fall colors...Pumpkin Pie and Cinnamon Cider.  They are yummy!

The dahlias on the card front are stamped in Versamark and embossed with clear emboss powder.  If you don't have that, you can just use Cinnamon Cider ink pad.  It just won't have that glossy look.

The dahlia bud was fun to do.  I stamped off with Sahara Sand on a piece of Shimmery White.  Color the outline and add shadows to your liking by using the Cinnamon Cider marker.  Then, color the bud with the Light Pumpkin Pie Blends marker.  The flower did have to be fussy cut out since there are no dies to accompany this stamp set.

Instead of a bow, I wrapped linen thread around three of my fingers several times, very loosely, and then tie it with a knot in the middle.  It gave the card a more rustic look, perfect when using these fall colors.  You can also see the Brushed Metalic paper. The card needed to be livened up a bit and I wasn't feeling the pearls or jewels look for a change.
