We made this card at our demo meeting using the Painted Seasons Bundle.  I fell in love with this particular sheet of DSP in the pack.  And the succulents, wow.  They are everywhere you look, and now even on our cards.  They are very realistic looking.   This card was designed by my friend, Jena.

You don't want to miss out on these goodies.  They are only available during Sale-a-Bration and will not be carried over to the next catalog.  If you have any questons, please let me know so I can help.

Valentine's Card

Image result for valentines

I hope you are all celebrating your day with your loved ones.  My husband is traveling for work, so he's not home.  Oh well.  He made me a nice dinner Saturday night before he left.  I'll be glad when he comes back tomorrow.  Just in time for dinner.

This is the card I made for my hubby.

The stripe paper I made from Incredible Like You stamp set.  Just stamp the stripes several times until it overs the Shimmer White paper.  The other strip is from the Floral Romance DSP.  Pink is for Valentine's Day, right?

Well, my hubby is so  not a pink man.  Here comes the Early Espresso.  I wanted to un-feminine the pink and it worked pretty well.  The dark of the Early Espresso really helps take away from the pink.

Since I didn't purchase any of the traditional Valentine' Day stamp sets, I had to come up with another route to go.  So, I dusted off the Sunshine Sayings framelits instead.  It's a perfect way to show that you can make a Valentine's Day by using what you have on hand.

Cupcake Gala

Here comes another snow storm in Wisconsin.  It's already started snowing.  The drive home tonight wasn't the best.  It was blowing and drifting so trying to stay in my lane was tricky.  Fortunately, not many cars were around, so I wasn't too worried about that.  As long as I stayed out of the ditch.

With the Gingham Gala DSP, doesn't this cupcake look like it should be going to a picnic?

After looking at this picture, I just noticed the ribbon is not straight. I'll have to fix that later.  Grapefruit Grove is not a color that I have used much of, but now I'm really liking it.  I'd a perfect color for Spring, which isn't coming soon enough.

Look at the layers on this card.  The Gingham Gala plaid just didn't look good against the plain Grapefruit Grove cardstock.  The Whisper White helped to define the plaid and stand out.

For the frosting, I had to cut it out by hand with the paper snips.  But...Stampin' Up! is coming out with framelits for this set!! Yahoo!  Look at all the beautiful framelits that come with this set.  My favorite is a toss up between the candles and the cupcake stand.  Customers can order these during the month of March. The cost is $27.00.  And this purchase will go towards another SAB item!

Now, we can't forget the inside of the card.  Here it is:

I stamped the sentiment and also with the jimmies.  What do you call the decorations on cupcakes?  Jimmies or Sprinkles?  I'm from Milwaukee, so for me, they are jimmies.  Not sure if it is a Milwaukee thing, because not many people around here call them that.  At least my family know what I'm talking about when I say jimmies.

This is it for me tonight.  Gotta get some sleep since I know that the driveway will be needing snowblowing in the morning.

Candy Holder

Another weekend come and gone.  It's really quiet in my house with no one but me here.  Chris left for Miami this morning.  Just in time, we got 1-2 inches of snow already and more to come.  Perfect timing on his part, right?

I found this adorable candy treat hold from the Paperpixie.com.  She originally had a Christmas theme, but I turned it into a Valentine treat.  The "Love You" is from Enjoy Life.  I absolutely LOVE this font.  Totally elegant, but simple at the same time.  It fits perfectly with the heart from the Wood Words stamp set.

It will hold probably one more Lindt treat, or plenty of Hershey Kisses.  The only supply you need that is not Stampin' Up! is the adhesive backed velcro.  After digging through my stash, I actually found some that I could use!  Score!  I hate starting an project and realizing that I am missing something so it can't be finished immediately.

The base is Sahara Sand, measuring 9 3/4 x 7.  Here is a very basic diagram of where to score.

I've got to figure out how make better diagram's for you.  But, you can go on her website for a professional diagram.  I'll practice on this.

Coffee Treats

It's the weekend!  I was so glad not having to step a foot outside today.  With it being cold again, I knew I wasn't missing anything.  I have to work tomorrow, which . means Chris is making dinner!

When I was going through . my pictures, it came to my attention I never posted these qute little coffee treats I made for my coffee friends.

You can see on the left, the inside was the Starbuck's Peppermint Mocha coffee.  During the holidays, I found these in the grocery store, along with a Pumpkin Spice one.  When I saw them, I knew immediately this was going to be my gifts for my coffee friends.  How perfect, right?

The holders are 6 x 6 pieces of cardstock.  Roll into a tube and adhere on the side with Tear & Tape.  I couldn't recommend Snail, because I don't think it would hold very good.  Also use Tear & Tape along the bottom.  Your tube is now set, ready for you decorate.

For the top, I used the retired slot punch.  It's been retired for several years, but one that I couldn't get rid of.  You can also use a circle punch if you don't have anything else.  Weave the ribbon through the two slots and push it into the cube with the coffee.  Tie in a bow.

I've also seen the same idea used with chocolate bars.  Super easy and fun to decoarate.  My coffee friends really liked these.  And, as you noticed, I couldn't make them all the same.  That's just too easy.

Oh Happy Day

Busy day at work today.  Unfortunately, I had to work more than what I wanted to.  But doesn't everyone feel like that?  I talked to both girls today.  That always makes me feel good.  Alyssa is back at school and Megan is still in England. The house is soo quiet with them gone.  But, life goes on.

This humming bird is addicting to color.  I wish that I had more Stampin' Blends.  Here's an oopsie that I did.  Last time I placed an order, I ordered two Stampin' Blends.  I have two single colors and wanted the other pair.  I ordered the ones I already had!  Naturally, I was quite ticked at myself for that error.  Has anyone else ever done that?

Anyway, the main colors in the humming bird are Calypso Coral, Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam.  He's not your typical colored bird, but they don't always have to match real life.

The bird is cut out using the framelits.  So glad they come in a bundle.  I wouldn't want to fussy cut him out.  Did you know that if you order the bundle, you automatically receive 10% off the cost of both items?   That's right.    And right now, tthat would put you VERY close in earning one SAB item!  Win - Win!

The Rich Razzleberry in the flower gives it a real rich look.  You can definately tell the two different colors are in the petals.

The patterned paper is from the Floral Romance DSP.  The bird looks like he's in his element with the flower and the background.

Fresh Fig Moments

Last week the weather here in Wisconsin was -25.  And that was just the temperature, we won't talk about the wind chill.  Today, it is 40 degees.  Never know what to expect here.  Let's just hope we don't have to endure another Polar Vortex for quite some time.

I fell in love with the Floral Romance DSP pack.  Included in the pack are sheets of vellum!  I don't recall Stampin' Up doing that before.  It's such grand surprise.  The stamp set that is shown with is Wonderful Romance.  I like it, but decided to pass on that for right now.  Here, it's paired with the Fresh Fig and the Layering Leaves Dynamic Embossing Folder.  Looks like they were made for each other!

The vellum has bunches of leaves on them.  I fussy cut out 4 bunches of leaves and that is what is directly under the oval sentiment.  The leaves are in two diffrerent colors.  When cutting out, try to get several of both colors for more dimension.  The darker leaves really stand out more.

The words are from Lasting Lily.  It's FREE with any $100 order.  I LOVE this stamp set.  And, in the next release of SAB items, there are framelits to match!  Yahoo!  I sooo cannot wait to order those.  No more fussy cutting those lilys.
