The Closeout Sale has Started!

Besides Christmas, December brings about one thing in the SU! world.  It's time for the 2019 Year-End Closeout Sale!!  That's right...we have to get ready for the new merchandise coming in the new SAB Catalog and also the new Spring Mini Catalog.  There is something new happening too.

As usual, we have the closeout list.  That has items that are leaving us for good.  I know it's hard to say good-bye to some of the products that have quickly become some of our favorites.

Another list contains items that will be available in future catalogs!  YES!  When the Holiday Catalog ends January 2, some items will not be orderable any more.  But...they will be in the next 2020-2021 Annual Catalog or even the next 2020 Holiday Catalog!  That is so incredibly awesome.  I am happen to report that the beloved moose punch is included in this list!  It is still not available to order, but he will be back next year!

Love You Card

Cyber Monday.  Did anyone find some faulous deals that you couldn't pass up?  I never find anything good to purchase.  So, for me, it's a total bust.  This year, I actually didn't find any super special deals on Black Friday that I needed.  I was completely bummed.  My husband wanted some items from Menards, but even at 8:00, two hours after opening, the lines and people were so overwhelming, we just walked out.  In my husband's eyes, nothing is worth that hassle.

I had to break away from the Christmas cards.  Absolutely love making them, especially with the awesome products, I needed a change, so I figured you did too.

This card only took me about 15 minutes to make.  Super easy too.

Take a look at the colors.  I haven't used two of them lately.   Very vibrant colors that stand out on the watercolor paper.  I used the aqua painters with the ink pads and just colored the paper.

I love how the black Memento ink shows up against those vibrant colors.  Make sure you have your stamps inked very well to get a good stamped image.  Or you can use the Stamparatus if you need to do multiple stamping.  You definately don't want an image here that is partally stamped.

This would be a card that I would send to my girls at college.  Who would you send it to?

Copper on Top

It's been great having the entire family home for Thanksgiving.  We just had my in-laws over for Thanksgiving dinner.  The girls enjoyed spending time with their grandparents.  It was a nice layed back day for us.  Tonight we are all still home.  Tomorrow is another story.  The girls go back to school and my husband travels to Vegas for his work.  So, when I get home from work, the house will be very quiet.  I'd rather have all here over no one.

This card was a huge hit at my last club meeting.  They all couldn't wait to make it.

Of course, it's made with the Christmas Gleaming bundle.  My favorite for this Christmas season.  Don't you just love the way the copper on the DSP really shines?  The top piece is the copper foil.  It doesn't shine too much in thie picture, but in real life, it does!

I try to hide the paper edges when they meet up with each other.  Here, I wrapped the ribbon around a piece of Mossy Meadow and adhered that over that line.  I may have to use this more often.  It gives a very finished look to the card.

The holly and berries I colored with blender pens and the ink pads. The leaves got a real rough coloring.  I wanted something that wasn't completely polished this time.  The berries are finished with the Shimmery Crystal Effects.  Don't forget to leave that for the very end since it needs time to dry.

Three Tree Plaid Christmas

I started my new job today.  At my local grocery store, I'll be one of the e-commerce people who work with the online orders.  In other words, my job will be shopping.  I can totally handle that.  Today was my first day training.  It went pretty good.  Being in retail for 19 years, some things came naturally.  I just have to get used to their own computer system and way of doing things.  It'll be good.

I originally had this card ready to go for club last week.  Well, we actually ran out of time and didn't get to make it!  That has never happened.  But, on the bright side, I either have a card ready for next month or this will be their thank you card.

The three trees are all stamped in different colors and also used different patterns.  This could easily be done by just punching out three trees using three different patterns from the Wrapped in Plaid pack.

My colors were Cherry Cobbler, Shaded Spruce and the third was gold embossed.  Gotta get the shine on.

I really like this card.  It's clean and simple, that's my style.  Normally, I would have covered up the DSP more, but the slight change in the trees/mats really made a different and I'm liking it.  I'll have do this more often.

Copper on the Side

It's starting to get crazy around here!  Alyssa is already home for Thanksgiving.  She came home Thursday night already.  Sure helps not having any classes Mondays and Fridays.  It's been great having her home.  Unfortunately, Megan can't come home until Tuesday night or Wednesday.  It all depends upon the weather and also if she is driving with her roommate.  As long as she comes home safe, that's all that counts.

We made this card in my Card Event and also in club this week.  It seemed like it was a favorite amongst everyone.  Part of it is the paper, Pretty Peacock.  It has quickly become a favorite amongst people, including me.  I guess we will have to make the most of our time with this color.

I Cased this card from Pinterest.  Sorry, I don't recall the exact person who created the original card.  There are a few tweaks that I made myself.

The copper is attached just on the ends.  It's actually two pieces measuring 1/2 x 2.  There are two ways to adhere it to the DSP.  One...use the Fine Tip Glue on one end and hope it doesn't squeeze out.  Two...use some old Washi Tape on the ends.  It's easy to adhere and move if necessary.  I had my club members use Washi Tape.

The ornament is copper embossed on Pretty Peacock.  The pattern goes with the pattern on the Brightly Gleaming DSP I chose.  It's kind of a squarish, pointed up within a circle pattern.  No idea what you would call it, but it's beautiful.

The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Christmas Set.  I'm sure getting my moneys worth from this set.  I LOVE it.  People have a tendency to overlook these stamps.  They think because each sentiment is smaller, it won't fit on a cardfront.  Well, they are WRONG.  It's the perfect size for this card without taking away from the ornament or DSP.
