Using the Split Card Texture Dies

Did a storm blow through this afternoon.  The lightening and thunder was absolutely CRAZY!  It was constant for about 15 minutes.  One crack of thunder was so loud and close by, both Megan and I jumped out of our chairs.  What we didn't get was the rain.  It went right around us and towards the next town.  Glad we didn't get the hail.

We are making this card tonight in club.  New color.  New die.  New stamp set.  Hopefully it's a win with my people!

I'm trying the new Split Card Texture dies.  They look so fun I had to try them.  Plus, they will literally go with any stamp set or paper.   For this card, I used the grid texture.  The other die is floral.  But I thought too much floral on a single card might be a little too much.

The leaves are stamped in Versamark and heat set the white embossing powder.  At first I wasn't sure how it would look embossed, but the image came out very clean.  I loved the light/dark contrast.

The flower embellishments are the Loose Flower Flourishes.  The only part I'm not a fan of is that they are not adhesive backed.  So, instead, I put three tiny dots of glue on the card front and added the flowers directly on the glue.  The background paper is from the Pansy Patch DSP set.  The flowers were a perfect match for it.
