Tasty Thursday - Candy Cane Marshmallows

I'm always looking for new Christmas cookie ideas.  I came across this several years ago and thought I'd give it a try.  My girls liked them more than I had anticipated.  They are super easy and cute. They would also make great stirring sticks for hot chocolate.  Just picture these amongst a hot chocolate bar.  What the heck, even for hot coffee.  It could be your own Peppermint Mocha Hot Chocolate.   I found this picture on Pinterest to show you.

Candy Cane Marshmallows

Candy canes - I prefer the plain sticks over the hooked

1 bag Marshmallows - regular size

Dipping Chocolate

Additional sprinkles, chopped nuts, crushed candy canes

Stick the candy cane in the center of the marshmallow.  Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or microwave.  Dip the marshmallow partially in the chocolate.  Garnish with sprinkles, nuts or candy canes.  Stand up on waxed paper until chocolate is hardened.  Store in air-tight container.

Unfortunately, I don't know the exact measurements.  I usually use the entire bag of marshmallows and if there are leftover candy canes, just have the kids eat them.  Usually Christmas is all about the cookies.  I do have to agree.  But these are a refreshing change in the cookies.
