Sunflowers can be Blue

It's definately winter in Wisconsin.  Yesterday we got about 7 inches of snow.  All the schools around the area were cancelled.  Was not a good day for the snow blower not to work.

I wanted to shake things up and do a blue sunflower.  I've seen some online and thought they were beautiful.  So here's my take.

The colors are Dapper Denim and Island Indigo.  Two that I normally would put together, but here they work. Now, I normally don't do any kind of fussy cutting, but this wasn't too bad.  I thought to use a circle framelit, but you lose the detail of the flower.  If you want some more dazzle, add the Wink of Stella.

Do you see the right side of the card?  I stamped the fern leaf in Dapper Denim ink onto Dapper Denim cardstock.  It was looking a little bland so the tone-on-tone was perfect.  It added detail without taking away from the rest of the card.  Do you like the color?  It will be retiring at the end of May so you might want to add it to your wish list.  The In-Colors do have a tendency to sell out before they actually retire.

The doily was something I haven't used in the longest time.  They were calling me to come out to play!  They really softened up the tone of the card.  Shows that you can use dark colors with a delicate element like a doily.  You can cut them in half very carefully with your paper cutter.  I just adhere the middle part with snail and leave the outside free.

Looks like we are getting more snow tonight.  Great.  We have been lucky, not having much snow until now.
