Pumpkins and Blessings

Another Sunday means another Packer game.  Today iwe are playing the Minnesota Vikings.  In the league, there are two teams where winning is even sweeter.  The first is against the Chicago Bears, whom we beat last week.  The second is the Vikings, whom we are playing right now.  The game is in our favor currently, so let's keep it that way.  GO PACK GO

We did this card in our club this week.  I used the Many Blessings stamp set.  Fits perfectly for this time of year.

There was just enough putzy coloring in this card.  The leaves are stamped in Old Olive, and then colored with the Pear Pizzazz marker.  Love how the leaves turned out.  With the Pear Pizzazz, you can still see the leaf veins.

The pumpkins are stamped in Early Espresso and then colored with watercolor pencils and blender pens.  If you can, let the stamped image dry before you start coloring, otherwise the outline can bleed a little bit.  When using the blender pens, I always start with the lightest color and end up with the darkest color last.  The blender pen is wiped off between colors, but why tempt fate?

In the leaves,  you can see I colored some of the stems in Early Espress.  It was really the last thing I did on the card, and ended up not caring for it.  My suggestion would be to either using a light shade, like Soft Suede or Old Olive.  But, since the entire card was complete, I left it alone.  It's not bad, but I wouldn't do it again either.

For the banner, using one dimensional wouldn't be enough.  I stacked two dimensionals on top of each other, using 4 total, and then it was perfect.  The banner won't cave in, but the depth is still okay to put in the mail.  The ends, I just used regular adhesive after the middle was on.  All the dimensions are in the card recipe.

The color combo is very typical for a fall card, but I love it.

I didn't have time to stamp on the inside, but I will go back and stamp another crate.  It would just take a few minutes to stamp and color another one and any receiver would love the extra touch.
