Oh to be at the Waterfront

It's officially Spring and we are supposed to get some snow tonight.  Welcome to Wisconsin.  It probably won't last long, just enough to make driving to work miserable.  I think we are all ready for real Spring.  I'm kind of envious of all those people heading out on Spring Break.  It's hard waiting for our time to come.  Over Memorial Day weekend, we will be heading to Germany to visit Alyssa.  I already can't wait to see her.  There's a tough sacrifice for Megan.  She will have to celebrate her birthday while in Germany.  Megan is taking the news very well.

This was a fun card to make.  The striped paper is from the Tutti Frutti DSP.  I love how it turned out looking like a beach towel!  That happened kind of by accident.

There is a lot of colors going on in this little piece of 3 1/2 square Whisper White.  When doing a scene like this, I usually start in the middle and work either up or down from there.  In this case it was down.  I started with the Pool Party blue.  Stamped it several times and then filled in with the Soft Sky.  We are at the beach so Crumb Cake is the sand.  Have to have palm trees at the beach.  The beach house was just a fun pop of color.

Do you see the two colors on the sun?  It was done using the Rock 'n Roll technique.  Key part is ALWAYS start with the lightest color.  Here I first inked the sun stamp in Crushed Curry.  Then, I just tried to roll the stamp in the Pumpkin Pie.  I wanted to get it just on the edges for the sunset look.  It's not hard, but I suggest you practice before you actually put it on your card.  It's just a cool effect with no effort at all.  And doesn't cost anything.  Love that!

Color is a good thing right?  I hope so because look at al these colors in this card.  Wowsers!  But that is what makes this card great.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
