Hope and Golden Afternoon

Is anyone ready for the new catalog to start?  I'm for some new products.  Of course, I will miss some that are retiring, but soon they are usually forgotten soon after the new catalog starts.

I will miss this Golden Afternoon stamp set.  Not only do I like the trees, I also really like the sentiments.  They are simple and sweet.

The tree is stamped by coloring with Soft Suede and Old Olive markers.  It would be perfect by using the Stamparatus.  That way, if you miss coloring a part, it's super easy to re-ink and stamp again.

I sponged some Old Olive under the tree for grass.  It looked way to bare.  I wanted to stamp some birds from the set, but when I add something extra like that, I usually end up messing it up and having to start all over.  Never mind the birds this time.  But, sponging some blue sky would have been nice too.

Here's a little inside on the layout.  I had the tree and sentiment completely stamped.  Unfortunately, the sentiment was slightly crooked and of course, it bothered me.  I matted the Whisper White on the Nature's Poem piece, and off set it with another, making sure the sentiment is now straight on the card front.  Now, it looks straight and the tree looks good off kilter just a bit.
