Curvy Keepsake Candy Treat
Today we actually went out and did something. We went to the Columbus Antique Mall. It's a huge old factory filled with antiques. It's very easy to social distance there it's so large. There was a purpose for the trip. Megan needed a dresser for school in the fall. And we found one! It's going to need to be stripped of the ugly paint, so she now has to figure out what she wants done. She also found a cedar chest that she fell in love with. Normally for trips like this, we always take my van. But, of course, since we found two larger pieces, we didn't have it! It's in the shop getting a recall fixed. So, because we didn't have a large enough vehicle, there's another trip up there. Megan and I might make a run up there on Tuesday after she's done with work.
How nice would it be to receive this treat holder for no reason? I made these treat holder for my work people. We all worked extremely hard during the Covid months. I wanted a way to show my people thank you for all their hard work. I happened to bring them in on what was bad day. I was told the attitude completely changed after the treats were handed out. It made me feel so good knowing they appreciated my hard work.
The pattern is very similar to the Mini Cury Keepsake die. But, I'll be honest and disclose that I cut the pattern out from my Scan n Cut. Except for the handle, and possibly the size, it's the same exact thing.
The images are stamped on all four sides. I folded the sides over so I didn't stamp on the bottom. You can't have a messy bottom!
The ferns are stamped in Pear Pizzazz and Soft Sea Foam. The color is Rococo Rose and splatter is Pretty Peacock. These two colors are stamped off first. Otherwise, they would have been too bold for what I was going for.
The sentiment on the label is from Tasteful Touches stamp set. The labels are cut from the Tasteful Labels dies. That's why they all work so perfectly together!
The ribbon I actually used was retired. But, any other ribbon would work also. I knew these people wouldn't be too particular if I used retired product.
I was on a roll when making these and didn't count how many were done. There were a few extra so I gave them to my club people. After not meeting for several months, they also appreciated the treat. I was able to "stuff" 4 mini Snickers inside. It was all how they were placed.
Making these treat holders was so fulfilling. It didn't cost a large amount of money, but it brought so many smiles to everyone's faces. That's what it's about.
