Best. Dessert. Ever.

The girls and I took the day off and went into Milwaukee.  We had the need to visit our Italian Market, Glorioso's.  They are downtown on Brady Street and have been there for 75 years.  They have the best food.  Megan is in love with their Italian Beef.  She always gets the large sandwich so she can have leftovers the next day.

This is a place that goes far back in my mom's family.  My grandfather used to deliver Borden's milk to Glorioso's in the horse and buggy.  My mom used to go on a regular basis and knew the brothers who started the market.  If you remind them, they do remember my grandfather and mom.  I am very happy to have continued the tradition of shopping there with my girls.

We have our routine down. We go and order lunch from the deli.  After we are finished eating, we go shopping, always finding something for dinner.  After we are all loaded up, cooler packed, we walk the block to Scortino's Bakery.  There we always grab some cookies and dessert.  I always get 2 cannoli's from there.

For me, this is a real treat.  I will admit, they are an acquired taste being the filling is ricotta cheese.  When we went to Italy in 2012, I had to try a cannoli to see if it's made the same in both countries.  Good news.  They were the same.

This week is going to be crazy for me so I don't know how much blogging I will get done.  We have dinner plans tomorrow after working all day and then Thursday and Friday it will be  moving Alyssa back to Oshkosh into her house.  My first mission will be to find curtains for her bedroom.

Bear with me this week.  It's always emotional and bittersweet sending the girls back to school.  No matter how many time we watch them leave, it doesn't get any easier.

Until next time...Stampin' Always,
